Deuce Gear, 782 Gear, Uniforms. What do they mean for the Vietnam reenactor/living historian? Below is an except for the would-be Marine impression. Equipment and gear is only half the arsenal of your identity, your personal character can make the difference! Smile Have fun.

All clothing and equipment must be kept serviceable. Remember- You're pretending to be a Marine dammit. Don't dishonor the Corps.

Field Uniform:
• Coat, Mens, Cotton, Poplin or Rip-stop, OG-107 (Type III- Jungle)
• Trousers, Mens, Cotton, Poplin or Rip-stop, OG-107 (Type III- Jungle)
• Undershirt, OG-109 (optional, but if tee is worn it must be this type)
• Socks, Wool Blend, Cushion Sole
• Belt, Trouser, USMC, Khaki with Open Faced Brass Buckle
• Boots, Combat, Jungle Climate, Spike Protective (Vietnam Jungle Boots)
• Hat, Sun, OG-107, R/S or Poplin (Boonie) OR 8-point Cover


• Tags, Identification ("Dog Tags"), with neck chain and extension, information shall be imprinted in the following order:
Line 1: Last Name
Line 2: First Name, Middle Initial (if applicable)
Line 3: 7-digit Service Number (your phone number) Blood Type (A NEG, not A-)
Line 4: Branch of Service (USMC or USN) and Gas Mask Size (S, M, L)
Line 5: Religion (if no preference then "NO PREFERENCE" is used.)

* No identifying marks, patches, or rank will be worn on the jungle coat, excepting, on occasion, the EGA stencil on the left pocket and flap.

• M-1 Helmet with Mitchell Pattern cover (No keeper/band necessary)
• M-1955 Fragmentation Vest
• Primary Weapon (M16A1 Full Rifle)
• Magazines for Individual weapon (6-12 20-round magazines)
• Knife, Combat -KABAR
• Suspenders, M-1941 (M-41 shoulder pads recommended)
• Belt, Pistol, M-1961
• Pouch, M-1961 (4-minimum)
• Cover, Canteen, M-1910 (2 minimum)
• Canteen, 1 quart, Plastic (2 minimum)
• Cup, Canteen, M1910 (aluminum or stainless steel)
• Pouch, Jungle, USMC First Aid

Optional 782 Gear
• Pouch, Jungle, Compass/First Aid, M-1956
• Compass, Lensatic
• Cover, Entrenching Tool, M-1943
• Tool, Entrenching, M-1943
• Three Cell Grenade Pouch, M-1910
• USMC Haversack, M-1941
• Bayonet for Weapon (see weapon list)
• Bandoleer, or specialized ammunition carrier for weapon
• Poncho, Rubberized, OG-207
• Liner, Poncho, ERDL Pattern with Center Seam
• Flashlight, Angle Head, MX Series (no guard around switch) with filters.

• Machinegun, M-60
• Launcher, Grenade, M-79
• Launcher, Rocket, M-72
• Specialized Accessories / Pouches Per Weapon Requirement
• G.I. Cleaning Kit

All gear is outlined above is as issued, additional Army issued gear may have been picked up piecemeal incountry. I agree that knife belongs to basic or necessary weapon to carry.
